FAQs

Getting Started

Who can benefit from therapy with Patrick?
I work with adults, couples, and individuals seeking deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Many clients are high-functioning, thoughtful, and motivated for growth. Therapy is helpful for anxiety, self-criticism, recurring relationship patterns, sexual or intimacy concerns, and other emotional challenges.

I’ve never been to therapy before. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Therapy is a safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns at your own pace. There is no “right way” to begin — we meet you where you are.

Can I work with you virtually?
Yes. I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions for clients who prefer or need remote therapy.

Therapeutic Approach

What is your approach?
My work is psychodynamic and relational, informed by Internal Family Systems and Right-Brain Psychotherapy. We focus on understanding the emotional and relational patterns that shape your life, helping you respond with insight rather than react out of habit. Therapy is collaborative, structured, and warm.

How is couples or sex therapy different?
Couples therapy addresses patterns that emerge between partners, including attachment and emotional regulation dynamics. Sex therapy focuses on desire, arousal, and intimacy concerns, exploring emotional, relational, and physiological factors. Both use depth-oriented and right-brain-informed techniques to create meaningful change.

Logistics & Fees

What are your session fees?

  • Individual Therapy (50 minutes): $300
  • Couples Therapy (50 minutes): $325

Sessions are held weekly unless otherwise discussed. Payment is due at each session and can be made via Visa, Mastercard, check, cash, or HSA/FSA.

Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider. I provide monthly superbills that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so it’s best to confirm with your carrier. I’m happy to answer questions about this process.

What is your cancellation policy?
Your session time is reserved specifically for you. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee. Emergencies and unexpected circumstances can always be discussed.

Reassurance & Next Steps

Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Sessions are private and confidential, providing a safe space to explore sensitive topics. You are never required to share more than you feel comfortable with.

How long does therapy last?
Therapy varies depending on goals and needs. Some clients work together for a few months, others for longer. We regularly check in on progress and adjust the pace to fit your needs.

What if I’m unsure if therapy is right for me?
You are welcome to schedule a brief consultation to discuss your questions, explore your goals, and see if the approach feels like a good fit. There is no pressure — this is simply a chance to connect.
